Job Summary:
The CNA will interact directly with our residents, providing comfort, monitoring their vital signs and assisting with daily living needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Takes care of residents personal hygiene by assisting with or giving bed baths, baths, or showers; toileting by walking patients to the toilet; and keeping patients clean at all times.
- Work with dining room personnel to ensure that all residents get the correct meals and that all residents are able to eat.
- Ensuring residents receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
- Medication assistance and documentation of all narcotic counts in every shift.
- Make scheduled rounds during schedule shift.
- Take residents to scheduled activities, appointments (hair), dining room.
- Answer calls for help and be a patient and compassionate care-taker for our residents.
- Clear dishes and clean dining room after meals. Set up dining room, dispose of trash.
- Encourage all residents to get exercise and participate in scheduled activities.
- Observe residents for physical and behavioral changes, like lack of appetite, unusual bruising, etc., and reported changes to nursing staff.
- Responsible for light housekeeping i.e., bathrooms, mopping, laundry (includes labeling).
- Monthly VS/ weights.
- Restock supplies (first aid, cleaning, etc.).
- Must complete all assigned Relias training on a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director.
- Compensation depends on experience
- Shifts available: 11PM- 7AM
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with everyone
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Complies with HIPAA Privacy Act by protecting confidential resident information.
- Participates in all training and continuing education. Maintains licensure to meet federal, state, and accreditation standards.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within supervision.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must complete all assigned Relias training on a timely manner.
- Med Tech training and Certified Nursing Assistant Certification required.
- CPR / First Aid Certification required.
- Alzheimer I & II training. Experience in ALF / Long Term care desired.
- Basic Computer knowledge.
