Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Armed Security Officer to join our dynamic security team. Your expertise in surveillance, law enforcement procedures, and emergency response will ensure the safety of personnel, property, and assets. Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of premises using CCTV systems, access control systems, and physical security checks to deter unauthorized access and prevent theft or vandalism
- Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to identify suspicious activity and respond promptly to incidents
- Perform background checks on visitors, contractors, and vendors to verify identity and ensure compliance with security protocols
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations by executing established emergency response procedures, including fire safety, first aid, CPR, AED operation, and incident management
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other noteworthy events with clarity and accuracy
- Manage access control by verifying credentials, operating Taser devices when necessary, and enforcing security regulations
- Assist with conflict de-escalation and conflict management to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining a professional demeanor
Skills
- Extensive experience with surveillance techniques including CCTV monitoring and incident detection
- Knowledge of law enforcement practices, security regulations, and compliance standards
- Proficiency in performing background checks and managing access control systems effectively
- Certified in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and trained in emergency response procedures
- Skilled in physical security measures such as heavy lifting, manual handling, and patrol duties
- Strong conflict de-escalation abilities combined with excellent customer service skills
- Ability to operate firearms safely and handle firearm-related equipment responsibly
- Familiarity with loss prevention strategies and fire safety protocols
- Exceptional written communication skills for incident report writing and record keeping
