Responsibilities
- Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings, specifications, and contract documents to understand project scope.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), or similar estimating software.
- Prepare accurate conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, GMPs, and competitive bid proposals.
- Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluate proposals, and prepare bid comparisons.
- Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, constructability issues, and potential cost impacts.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and project managers throughout the estimating process.
- Prepare scopes of work and assist in developing subcontractor bid packages.
- Incorporate addenda and design revisions into project estimates.
- Support value engineering efforts by identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality.
- Assist with change order pricing, cost analyses, and budget updates.
- Maintain organized estimate files, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor proposals, and historical cost data.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.
- Support the transition of awarded projects from preconstruction to the operations team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
- Experience preparing quantity takeoffs and detailed construction estimates.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Working knowledge of commercial construction methods, building systems, materials, and sequencing.
- Experience obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), PlanSwift, or similar estimating software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and mathematical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the New York commercial construction market is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work full-time in our White Plains, NY office.
Pay: $75,170.66 - $135,000.00 per year
