Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator (Dozer)
Job Description
Join our team to operate a Dozer for large earthmoving projects. This role focuses on commercial work, primarily operating on standard earth terrain and open farmland.
Responsibilities

Operate a Dozer, Excavator, or Roller to achieve final grade on commercial projects.

Handle large earthmoving tasks on sites ranging from 200,000 to 20 million yards of dirt.

Read and interpret blueprints to ensure precise grading.

Maintain communication and awareness of surroundings to ensure safety and efficiency.
Essential Skills-
3+ years of experience operating a Dozer, Excavator, or Roller in a Finish capacity.

Ability to operate on mass grading sites for commercial projects.

Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
GPS experience is a nice to have.

Candidates, for safety purposes, there is a strong preference to be English speaking and/or Bilingual.

Work Environment
The work is conducted on a civil construction site located on open farmland in Michigan City, IN, subject to varying weather conditions. Summers are hot and humid with potential thunderstorms, while winters can be cold with rain, snow, and wind. Adherence to high safety standards per OSHA protocols is required. A professional appearance and behavior are expected in line with the site code of conduct. Equipment currently used includes Komatsu, Volvo, Kubota, Bomag, and John Deere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Michigan City, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
