Job Overview
We are a well-established private dental practice in Broomall with a loyal patient base and a close-knit team. Our front desk is the heart of the office — we're looking for a seasoned professional who can own the patient experience from first phone call through treatment acceptance and scheduling.
This is not an entry-level position. We're seeking someone who already knows dental insurance inside and out and can hit the ground running.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the first point of contact for our patients — in person and by phone — with warmth and professionalism
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, with a strong working knowledge of PPO plans, fee schedules, downgrades, frequencies, waiting periods, and annual maximums
- Present treatment plans confidently and clearly, including out-of-pocket estimates, financing options, and phasing — and help patients say yes to the care they need
- Build and manage an efficient schedule: fill openings, minimize holes, block appropriately for production goals, and keep hygiene and doctor columns running smoothly
- Handle patient billing questions, collect payments at time of service, and explain EOBs accurately
- Coordinate pre-authorizations, claims follow-up, and communication with insurance carriers
- Confirm appointments, manage recall, and reactivate overdue patients
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 5+ years of dental front desk experience (general dentistry preferred)
- Deep understanding of PPO dental insurance — you can read a fee schedule, explain a downgrade, and calculate a patient portion accurately without help
- Proven treatment presentation skills — you're comfortable discussing multi-thousand-dollar treatment plans and closing with confidence and empathy
- Strong scheduling instincts — you understand production-based scheduling, how to protect doctor time, and how to keep a full, balanced schedule
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (Open Dental experience a plus)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Reliability, attention to detail, and a team-first attitude
Nice to Have:
- Treatment coordinator or office lead experience
- Bilingual a plus
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- 401(k)
- Health benefits
- Employee dental care
- A stable, supportive, family-like team environment where your contributions are seen and valued
Submit your resume with a brief note about your PPO insurance experience and a treatment plan you're proud of helping a patient accept. Candidates who meet the 5+ year experience requirement will be contacted for an interview.
Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
