Job Summary
We are looking for an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented NEMT Fleet Coordinator to help manage the daily operations of our transportation fleet.
This position is responsible for keeping vehicles safe, maintained, compliant, and ready for daily NEMT operations. The Fleet Coordinator will work closely with drivers, dispatchers, vendors, and management to ensure vehicles are available and operating efficiently.
Duties
- Coordinate and monitor daily fleet operations and vehicle usage.
- Schedule vehicle maintenance, inspections, repairs, and preventive services.
- Track vehicle registrations, insurance, permits, and other compliance requirements.
- Monitor driver assignments and vehicle availability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, fuel, inspection, and fleet records.
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and coordinate emergency repairs when needed.
- Ensure vehicles meet DOT, state, local, and company safety requirements.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are clean and ready for service.
- Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, vendors, and management regarding fleet needs.
- Assist with accident reports, investigations, and insurance claims.
- Monitor fleet expenses and assist with cost-control efforts.
- Assist with driver onboarding and provide fleet-related training as needed.
- Help identify ways to improve vehicle availability, safety, and operational efficiency.
Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in fleet management, transportation, logistics, or NEMT preferred.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and transportation regulations.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fleet management software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in NEMT operations.
- Knowledge of Medicaid transportation requirements.
- Experience tracking fleet data and preparing reports.
- Experience coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced transportation environment.
