Line Cook / Prep Cook – Japanese-Style Café
Job Summary
Are you interested in Japanese food and café culture? Takagi Coffee, a highly photogenic and popular Japanese-style café, is looking for experienced Line Cooks / Prep Cooks to join our team. Experience with flat top cooking and fry station operations is strongly preferred.
This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys Japanese food and culture, works well in a fast-paced kitchen, and has experience with flat top cooking and fry station operations.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards.
Cook and plate dishes consistently, including items prepared on the flat top and fryer.
Maintain quality, speed, and cleanliness during service.
Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
Keep the kitchen, prep areas, and workstations clean and organized.
Assist with daily prep, stocking, and inventory as needed.
Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
Qualifications
Previous kitchen experience in a restaurant or café is required.
Experience with flat top cooking and fry station is strongly preferred.
Valid Food Handler Card is required.
Interest in Japanese food, Japanese café culture, or Japanese cuisine is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
A valid California Food Handler Card is required before starting work.
