Position: Seasonal Farm/Plant Manager
Location: Princeville, IL
Compensation: $8,000 per Month
Scope of Position:
The Plant Manager participates in and manages production in our seasonal production plant. The Plant Manager compiles reports as required and communicates with superiors on a regular basis. The plant manager must be present through the entire season which typically begins August 1st (+ or – 15 days) – November 15th (+ or – 15 days). This is a great opportunity for someone interested in returning year after year.
** This is a seasonal position that lasts approximately 3 months. This is NOT a year-long, full time position. **
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee and play a direct role in day-to-day production, warehouse organization, shipping and receiving as well as equipment maintenance and repairs. Oversee inbound and outbound freight. Load/unload trucks as needed.
- Employee training.
- Oversee approximately six employees.
- Evaluating and communicating employee performance.
- Establish a good rapport with employees, working to maintain a high level of employee morale.
- Communicate with Director of Operations in a respectful and professional manner.
- Produce reports including production, plant/equipment/vehicle/worker issues, etc. weekly or more as requested by upper management.
- Communicate with local contractors and vendors as needed.
- Be prepared to “think outside the box” and problem solve.
- Ensure that employees follow company safety policies and general safe work practices.
- Perform necessary equipment repairs as needed and see them through to completion in order to prevent downtime and production delays.
- Perform other duties as required and requested.
Requirements for this Position:
- Organized and patient.
- Able to manage a diverse group of employees professionally and fairly.
- Forklift experience.
- Strong mechanical skills and troubleshooting background.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Capable of ensuring tasks and projects move through the process to completion.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Agricultural experience preferred.
- PC application skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook).
- Clean driving record.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be on feet for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. (Naturally occurring dust from seed.)

Air conditioned on-site housing with office space and internet is provided. Transportation to and from plant location and company vehicle during the season are provided.
