At some point, every Tax Senior has to make a choice.
Do you become exceptionally good at preparing tax returns?
Or do you become the accountant that clients ask for by name?
The firms that help you make that transition are surprisingly rare.
This Orlando CPA firm has spent more than 35 years building a reputation for developing accountants—not just processing returns.
They aren't looking for someone to keep the work moving.
They're looking for someone they can invest in.
Someone who wants to grow into the next generation of leadership within the tax department.
Why this opportunity stands out
- Competitive salary
- 8% to 9% annual bonus
- 10% of first-year billings on any new clients you introduce
- Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home)
- Established CPA firm with excellent staff retention
- Direct access to experienced Managers and Partners
- Clear progression towards Tax Manager
The opportunity
This isn't a role where you'll prepare returns, send them for review and repeat the process all over again.
You'll be encouraged to take ownership of your work.
Develop your review skills.
Build direct relationships with clients.
Support junior accountants.
And gain the experience that prepares you for your first management position.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing tax returns
- Working across partnerships, S Corporations, trusts and high-net-worth individuals
- Building long-term relationships with clients
- Mentoring junior team members
- Working closely with Managers and firm leadership
- Developing the commercial and leadership skills needed to become a future Tax Manager
The goal isn't simply to hire another Tax Senior.
It's to develop someone who's ready for what's next.
Your clients
You'll work across a varied portfolio that includes:
- Partnerships
- S Corporations
- High-net-worth individuals
- Trusts
- Non-profit organisations
The technical work will continue to challenge you.
The client exposure will broaden your experience.
And the people around you will help accelerate your development.
Who this role suits
You already have public accounting tax experience and enjoy working with both individual and business tax clients.
You may be in a larger firm where your progression feels slow.
Or perhaps you're looking for more responsibility than your current firm is prepared to give you.
Most importantly, you're looking for an opportunity where you'll continue developing as an accountant—not just as a tax preparer.
CPA qualification, or active progress towards it, is preferred.
The reality
The step from Tax Senior to Tax Manager isn't made by preparing more returns.
It's made by building confidence with clients.
Learning to review the work of others.
Developing future accountants.
And being trusted with greater responsibility.
That's exactly what this firm is looking to help you do.
If you're ready for a role that prepares you for management rather than simply another busy season, let's have a confidential conversation.
