Job Summary
Petals of Poppy is looking for a creative, organized, and dependable Studio Assistant to help preserve wedding and memorial flowers while supporting the day-to-day operations of our growing floral preservation business. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys detailed artistic work, thrives in a small business environment, and takes pride in creating meaningful keepsakes for clients.
As our studio continues to grow, there is plenty of opportunity for advancement, additional responsibilities, and long-term growth within the company.
Responsibilities
Floral Processing & Preservation
● Pick up wedding and event flowers from local venues when needed
● Receive, photograph, and process bouquets upon arrival
● Prepare flowers for drying and preservation
● Organize and label incoming client orders
● Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the studio
Design & Production
● Assist with designing custom pressed floral frames
● Arrange and glue preserved flowers into artwork
● Create smaller resin keepsakes and gift items
● Help with finishing touches, quality control, and packaging
● Prepare completed orders for shipping and local pickup
Client Experience
● Communicate professionally with clients via email, phone, and messaging
● Provide project updates and assist with scheduling
● Help maintain accurate order records and timelines
Studio & Business Support
● Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
● Keep workspaces clean, organized, and stocked
● Help photograph finished pieces
● Assist with social media content creation and posting
● Help monitor website performance and basic analytics
● Support special projects as the business grows
Future Opportunities
As the business expands, this role may include:
● Leading floral preservation workshops
● Assisting at vendor events and bridal shows
● Training new team members
● Taking on additional creative and leadership responsibilities

Qualifications

● Comfortable learning new skills and adapting in a fast-growing business
Preferred (but not required)
● Background in art, floral design, crafting, or design
● Experience with resin, framing, or other creative mediums
● Social media or photography experience
● Experience in customer service or small business operations
● $15–$22 per hour, depending on experience
