Kitchen Manager – Jayna Gyro Sacramento
Location: Sacramento, CA
Jayna Gyro is looking for an experienced, hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our fast-paced kitchen. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a high-volume environment, is passionate about food quality, and is committed to building and developing a reliable team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily kitchen operations
- Lead, train, coach, and supervise kitchen staff
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Maintain recipe and preparation standards
- Create and manage kitchen schedules while controlling labor costs
- Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and vendor relationships
- Monitor food costs, minimize waste, and maintain profitability
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
- Work closely with the General Manager to improve kitchen performance, speed of service, and guest satisfaction
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of kitchen management, lead cook, or sous chef experience
- Experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
- Knowledge of inventory management, food costing, and labor control
- ServSafe Manager Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
