The hotel houseperson is a crucial member of the housekeeping team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order through out the hotel, both in public areas and guest rooms. They support the housekeeping staff by performing tasks that require more physical effort, like moving furniture, handling heavy linens, and stocking supplies. Additionally,they often handle tasks like cleaning public restrooms, hallways, and lobbies, ensuring a welcoming and presentable environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
This includes tasks like vacuuming, dusting, polishing,mopping, and trash removal in public areas and guest corridors.
Housepersons support room attendants by moving furniture,handling heavy linens (like mattresses and bedding), and transporting dirtylinens to the laundry area.
They ensure that storage closets and pantries are stockedwith necessary supplies like linens, toiletries, and cleaning products.
Housepersons may assist with delivering items to guest roomsor responding to requests for extra towels or amenities.
They clean and maintain the cleanliness of public restrooms,lobbies, hallways, and other common areas.
Housepersons often serve as the eyes and ears of the hotel,reporting any maintenance or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.
They may assist with setting up and breaking down furnitureand equipment for events and meetings.
This includes collecting soiled linen, sorting, anddelivering clean linen to various areas of the hotel.
Skills and Qualifications:
The job requires physical effort, including lifting,carrying, and moving items.
Housepersons need to be detail-oriented to ensure thoroughcleaning and maintenance.
Interacting with guests and responding to their needs is apart of the role
Housepersons need to understand and follow establishedcleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
