About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a suite of mission-critical web-based applications that automate data management workflows for IC data custodians. These applications enable compliant data movement, reuse, and integration across the customer mission environment. The ideal candidate will join a mature Agile software development team focused on building and enhancing Java-based applications. This role provides the opportunity to work with modern technologies, including Java, Quarkus, and PrimeFaces, while contributing to scalable solutions that support critical mission needs.
What you'll do

Design, develop, test, and maintain complex Java-based applications.

Support the full software development lifecycle within an Agile development environment.

Develop solutions that automate data management, approvals, and compliant data workflows.

Design and implement complex algorithms while meeting strict timing, resource, and interface requirements.

Perform quality control reviews of software products and contribute to process improvements.

Collaborate with system and hardware engineers to define software requirements, interfaces, and system capabilities.

Support software deployment, installation, troubleshooting, and operational validation.

Improve software documentation and development standards.Describe the specific responsibilities and job functions of the role
Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

20+ years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.

Four additional years of Software Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Experience designing and implementing complex software solutions with strict performance, resource, and interface requirements.

Experience supporting software development processes, documentation standards, and quality control efforts.

Experience collaborating with system engineers to define software requirements and technical solutions.

Strong experience with Java development.

Experience with database development and administration.

Experience with SQL and complex query development.

Experience with PostgreSQL.

Experience with Elasticsearch aggregations.

Familiarity with modern Java frameworks and technologies such as Quarkus and PrimeFaces.

Experience working in Agile software development environments.
The pay range for this role is:
245,000 - 260,000 USD per year(Annapolis Junction, MD)
