We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Cashier to join our retail team! Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases in a friendly, professional manner
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Maintain organized checkout areas, stock registers, and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Assist with merchandising by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Conduct product demos when applicable to engage customers and showcase features effectively
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Experience
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact clearly with customers and team members
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling, giving correct change, and performing retail math calculations
- Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is beneficial but not required
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
