Industrial Specialist
Noria Corporation is seeking an Industrial Technical Consultant who enjoys solving problems, working in industrial environments, and contributing to improvements in equipment reliability. This role is customer-facing and requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals. The position involves both field and office work, supporting Technical Consultants and engineering teams through data collection, reporting, and deliverable development. This position reports to the Manager of Technical Services. Daily work is performed under the general direction of Technical Consultant staff.
General Job Duties
- Travel to customer facilities to assess lubrication and maintenance practices
- Collect engineering data from industrial machinery including gearboxes, electric motors, pumps, and greased bearings
- Compute, record, verify, and proofread data and other information
- Organize and report findings to Technical Consultant staff for analysis
- Assist with the creation of customer deliverables including spreadsheets, reports, and documentation
- Respond to internal requests for information by reviewing files, records, and other documents
- Identify gaps and support solutions that improve equipment reliability and performance
- Maintain compliance with all facility safety procedures and regulatory requirements including OSHA
- Perform additional duties as assigned
General Work Conditions
- Exposure to industrial environments including heat, cold, noise, dust, and other elements
- Required use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and hearing protection
- Periodic climbing of ladders and structures at heights of 20 feet or more
- Combination of industrial and office work environments
- Travel up to approximately 50 percent, including potential international travel
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machines and tools
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to collect and input data accurately into systems and spreadsheets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a changing environment
- Ability to recognize when issues may arise
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Ability to stand, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive motions
- Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions
Minimum Education, Certification, and Licensure Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in industrial maintenance or related field preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with machinery lubrication, oil analysis, or reliability practices
- ICML certifications (MLT or MLA)
- Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance systems
- Experience with data collection and reporting
- Experience working with hand tools
