Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Food Service Director to join our team in Wichita, KS!
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership with progression with added knowledge of food production and management, with experience in operational experience I front of house hospitality in dining and catering environments. As a Food Service Director, you will be responsible for creating exceptional dining experiences through training, innovative menu planning, effective management, and leading a dedicated team of professionals. This role requires a commitment to hospitality, food safety, quality, and excellence in service.
Responsibilities
- Lead the dining management team, while collaborating with other departments
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring high standards of hospitality, food quality and presentation.
- Work with our menu development team to reflect your resident likes and dislikes along with preferences.
- Oversight and guidance of food production processes, including preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Ensure inventory control by managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
- Coordinate catering events and banquets, ensuring all aspects of food service are executed flawlessly.
- Implement effective shift management practices to optimize staff scheduling and productivity.
Skills
- Proven experience in leadership with kitchen management within the food industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Comfortable in menu planning, food preparation, and culinary techniques.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices and food handling procedures.
- Experience in fine dining establishments is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff and residents.
- Familiarity with hospitality standards and customer service excellence.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
