About The American Institute of Balance
The American Institute of Balance (AIB) is a national leader in vestibular and balance diagnostics, education, and clinical support. AIB partners with physicians and specialty practices to improve access to high-quality diagnostic information for patients with dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders.
Position Overview
AIB is seeking a full-time Medical Science Liaison, Physician Relations to strengthen relationships with existing physicians and provider teams, support appropriate vestibular testing referrals, and help practices understand which patients are good candidates for vestibular and balance testing. This is a provider-facing education and relationship role, not a patient-care position and not a traditional sales role.
This is an ideal role for a PA/NP/ARNP with ENT practice experience who enjoys physician engagement, provider education, evidence-based communication, and building programs that improve appropriate utilization. Florida-based candidates are preferred, ideally near the Tampa area.
What You Will Do
· Build and maintain strong educational relationships with existing physicians, APPs, audiologists, and partner practices.
· Help providers understand who is a good candidate for vestibular and balance testing, including patients with dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, BPPV concerns, falls risk, concussion-related dizziness, or complex otologic/neurotologic presentations.
· Support appropriate referral growth from existing providers through clinical education, office hours, webinars, provider meetings, onboarding refreshers, and targeted follow-up.
· Lead provider education on vestibular diagnostics, test selection, clinical utility, interpretation concepts, contraindications, report utilization, and care pathways.
· Collaborate with Clinical Science, Quality, Diagnostic Operations, Billing/Compliance, Client Success, and Education Services to address provider questions and recurring education needs.
· Support CME-based activities as a secondary responsibility in collaboration with the Senior Director of Education Services.
· Support research-related initiatives as appropriate, including literature reviews, evidence summaries, outcomes tracking, abstract/poster development, manuscript support, and translation of emerging evidence into provider education.
Required Qualifications
· Current PA-C, NP, or ARNP/APRN license in good standing; ability to maintain required licensure and credentialing.
· Clinical experience in an ENT practice is required.
· Strong clinical communication skills and ability to educate physicians, APPs, audiologists, therapists, or other healthcare professionals.
· Comfort presenting virtually and in person to clinical audiences.
· Professional judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain boundaries around clinical education, patient-specific medical advice, billing guidance, and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with vestibular testing and patients with dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, BPPV, falls risk, concussion, otology/neurotology, neurology, or rehabilitation workflows.
· Prior experience as a medical science liaison, clinical educator, APP lead, CME faculty, provider relations specialist, clinical program manager, or similar role.
· Research experience, including literature review, abstract/poster development, manuscript support, outcomes tracking, or academic/clinical collaboration.
· Experience developing or supporting CME, CEU, grand rounds, webinars, clinical trainings, or provider education programs.
· Experience working with multi-site physician practices or healthcare service organizations.
Success in This Role Looks Like
· Appropriate vestibular testing referrals from existing active providers increase by an average of +1 referral/provider/year, with targeted education for minimally referring providers to improve recognition of appropriate candidates rather than increasing unnecessary testing.
· Priority existing provider or practice groups receive documented education and relationship touchpoints throughout the year, with provider satisfaction/NPS maintained at ≥8.5/10 among physicians/providers receiving MSL education or support using AIB’s existing survey process.
· Provider-facing resources, CME support, and assigned research/evidence deliverables are completed on agreed timelines, with CME and research remaining secondary to the primary focus on provider and physician relations.
Compensation and Schedule
· Full-time, exempt position.
· Start date is flexible, August to September preferred.
· Anticipated annual base salary: $110,000-$130,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
· Bonus opportunity: up to 10%, subject to eligibility and approved performance measures; bonus eligibility begins after 90 days.
· Florida-based candidates are preferred, ideally near the Tampa area; however, fully remote work arrangements may be considered for strong candidates.
· Moderate travel required, primarily within Florida, with occasional out-of-state travel for conferences, client meetings, and provider education activities.
