Overview
Osborne, Francis & Pettis seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal specializing in Plaintiff’s Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury cases to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research, document management, and case preparation skills, with experience supporting litigation processes. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with attorneys on complex personal injury claims, ensuring thorough case development and effective client support. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational abilities, proficiency with legal software, and a solid understanding of various areas of law including medical malpractice and personal injury law.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing and managing personal injury and medical malpractice cases from inception through trial.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- Manage case files using document management systems; ensure all documentation is accurate, organized, and up-to-date.
- Review relevant documents to support plaintiff claims.
- Interview clients, to gather pertinent information for case development.
- Maintain effective communication with clients through professional phone etiquette; provide updates on case status as needed.
Qualifications
- Paralegal experience with a focus on personal injury or medical malpractice law is required.
- Proficiency in legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Experience with legal case management software such as Filevine.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Knowledge of document review procedures and legal administrative processes.
- Familiarity with Florida litigation procedures and court filing requirements.
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
- Strong proofreading and transcription skills are desirable.
- Educational background in paralegal studies or related field is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus. Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
