Controls Engineer with strong Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLC experience to support modifications to existing automated production systems. This role requires troubleshooting, validation, and optimization of controls, robotics, vision, and dispense systems in a manufacturing environment. Automotive and EV experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLC programming and commissioning experience
- Ladder Logic and STL troubleshooting
- PLC communications: Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Anybus
- Experience with Fanuc Robots, including iRVision
- Keyence 3D Vision and XG-X Profilometer experience
- Familiarity with servos, stepper motors, pneumatics, vacuum systems, light curtains, sensors, and actuators
- Experience with dispense systems, including 2-part dispense applications
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot LV/HV electrical systems
- Understanding of manufacturing state machines
- SAP/MOS (Tesla) communication experience preferred
- Automotive/EV manufacturing experience highly preferred
Nice to Have:
- Tesla automation experience
- Fanuc robot mastering, I/O validation, PLC handshakes, and touch-ups
- Hardware design experience
Note: Existing controls code is largely in place; primary responsibilities involve system modifications, integration, validation, and troubleshooting rather than greenfield commissioning.
