Overview
Sal needs a Counter/Expo Wizard for our extremely busy hoagie shop! In this energetic role, you will be the vital link between the kitchen and order fulfillment, ensuring that food is prepared and delivered with precision, speed, and a smile. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a seamless experience for our customers. Whether you’re expediting orders or assisting with food preparation, your contribution will be essential in maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary and customer service skills while working alongside a passionate team dedicated to excellence.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate between kitchen staff to ensure orders are packed and given to the right people.
- Expedite orders by prioritizing tickets, communicating clearly with kitchen staff, and managing timing to ensure freshness and accuracy.
- Take Walk in orders for guests that choose not to order online or use our kiosk.
- Support food safety protocols by handling ingredients properly and maintaining cleanliness in work areas.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding special requests or dietary restrictions to accommodate guest needs.
- Maintain organization of food stations, supplies, and equipment to optimize workflow during busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate efficiently with kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic numeracy skills for managing orders, portions, and POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Organizational skills to keep work stations clean, stocked, and ready for service.
- Experience with food expediting is a plus
