Duties
- Manage the entire parts inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize shortages or overstock situations
- Develop strong relationships with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) suppliers and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to maximize value
- Oversee procurement management processes, including sourcing parts from multiple suppliers and ensuring timely order fulfillment through advanced order management systems such as ERP or AS400
- Coordinate with automotive service teams for accurate parts availability, supporting efficient vehicle repairs and maintenance
- Utilize warehouse management techniques and equipment repair knowledge to optimize storage solutions, including forklift operation and warehouse layout planning
- Implement demand planning strategies based on historical data, sales trends, and upcoming service schedules to forecast future parts needs
- Maintain detailed records using data entry systems for inventory control, shipping & receiving logs, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) documentation
- Lead logistics efforts related to shipping & receiving processes to ensure timely delivery of parts while managing costs effectively
- Support customer service initiatives by providing technical expertise on automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and OEM specifications
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership parts management or automotive supply chain roles with a strong understanding of inventory management systems such as ERP or AS400
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and OEM parts specifications
- Demonstrated ability in procurement management, sourcing strategies, negotiation skills, and supplier relationship building
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including forklift certification, shipping & receiving procedures, and equipment repair
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive service and auto body repair processes
- Experience with demand planning tools and inventory control techniques to optimize stock levels
- Proficiency in using order management systems for accurate procurement and order processing
- Excellent customer service skills combined with effective communication abilities to collaborate across departments
- Ability to analyze data for decision-making related to pricing strategies and supply chain optimization
- Knowledge of HVAC systems relevant to dealership facilities is a plus but not required
