15–25 Hours Per Week | Nights & Weekends Required
Riverbend Ice Center is looking for an organized, dependable, people-first Facility Manager to help oversee the day-to-day operation of our ice rink.
This is a part-time position averaging approximately 15–25 hours per week, with much of the schedule consisting of evenings and weekends.
We are looking for someone who combines strong administrative and customer service skills with a willingness to be hands-on in the facility. The right person will be comfortable handling billing, customer inquiries, birthday parties, public skating, scheduling, and other administrative responsibilities while also serving as a manager on duty.
Previous ice rink experience is not required. We are more interested in finding someone who is organized, dependable, good with people, comfortable with computers and administrative work, and willing to learn the operational side of an ice rink.
We will train the right candidate on rink operations, including operation of the Zamboni/ice resurfacer.
Administrative & Customer Service
- Handle customer inquiries by phone, email, and in person
- Assist with customer billing, payments, account follow-up, and basic recordkeeping
- Coordinate and administer birthday party reservations from booking through the day of the event
- Help administer public skating sessions, including scheduling, staffing, admissions, skate rentals, and customer service
- Manage facility rentals and help maintain an accurate facility calendar
- Follow up with customers regarding reservations, payments, paperwork, and upcoming events
- Maintain organized records and make sure important details don't fall through the cracks
- Learn and effectively use our scheduling, billing, and facility-management systems
Facility Operations
- Serve as the manager on duty during assigned shifts
- Open and/or close the facility as scheduled
- Supervise part-time and seasonal employees
- Make sure games, practices, public skating, parties, rentals, and events stay on schedule
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional facility
- Handle customer concerns and resolve problems as they arise
- Learn basic ice rink operations
- Learn to safely operate the Zamboni/ice resurfacer
- Coordinate with maintenance staff and management when facility issues arise
Business & Community
- Help build relationships with customers, teams, schools, youth organizations, and community groups
- Follow up with potential rental and event customers
- Help increase birthday parties, public skating attendance, facility rentals, and other programming
- Assist with promotions, social media, email communication, and special events
What We're Looking For
- Availability to work nights and weekends is required
- Strong organizational and administrative skills

- Comfortable working with billing, payments, scheduling, and computer systems
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Comfortable supervising younger and seasonal employees
- Willing to learn new systems and responsibilities
- Willing and able to learn to operate a Zamboni/ice resurfacer
- Comfortable being both behind the desk and hands-on throughout the facility
Management, office administration, customer service, hospitality, recreation, sports facility, or entertainment venue experience is preferred.
Hockey or ice skating experience is helpful, but not required.
Schedule
Approximately 15–25 hours per week.
Evening and weekend availability is required. Hours may vary depending on the facility schedule, tournaments, public skating, parties, and special events.
There is an opportunity for additional hours and increased responsibility for the right person.
Compensation
Competitive hourly compensation based on experience.
