Job Description:
Thomas Instrument is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Programmer to develop, optimize, and support CNC machining programs for complex, high-precision aerospace components. This position focuses on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis vertical and horizontal machining centers producing flight-critical hardware from a variety of aerospace materials.The successful candidate will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Machining personnel to develop efficient machining strategies, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve manufacturing processes.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers.
Read and understand the sequences and detailed steps on work orders / routers.
Develop complete machining strategies that minimize cycle time while maintaining quality.
Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to improve machining processes.
Manages programming assignments while actively supporting the shop floor.
Selects application specific tooling to ensure quality, longevity, and efficiency.
Develop, design, and create blueprints for fixtures and custom tooling.
Troubleshoots setups, feed and speeds, tooling, and machine issues in a manufacturing environment.
Anticipates and manages change.
Design fixtures and custom workholding solutions when required.
Support first article builds and prove-out of new programs.
Experience
Preferred experience working with CATIA NC DELMIA (V6 or 3DEXPERIENCE R2019X) programming software preferred but not required.). Suitable alternatives are CATIA NC V5, NX(CAM) or Pro-E(CAM).
Experience programming high precision parts in a range of common aerospace materials.
Strong blueprint reading skills.
Demonstrated GD&T proficiency.
Robust understanding of turning operations.
