This role plays a critical part in maintaining seamless operations across PacTrack’s extensive delivery network, which includes courier services, messenger orders, medical courier work, Amazon deliveries, and freight transport.
You will be a cross-functional operator, capable of adapting to multiple route types, vehicle classes, and delivery requirements with precision and professionalism. As a Relief Driver, you’ll step in to cover various routes, ensuring service continuity during absences, volume surges, and dynamic operational shifts.
About the Role
This position is ideal for drivers who thrive in a fast-paced, structured, and team-oriented environment. You will operate PacTrack-owned cargo vans and box trucks, performing scheduled and relief coverage across both daytime and nighttime routes. Each assignment presents a new opportunity to demonstrate versatility, professionalism, and reliability.
PacTrack’s Relief Drivers represent the company across multiple client environments — from medical facilities and government agencies to Amazon logistics centers and regional freight operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Cover assigned routes during absences, call-outs, schedule changes, and periods of increased delivery volume.
- Learn and operate multiple route types across PacTrack’s delivery network, including but not limited to Amazon delivery and medical courier operations.
- Safely transport and deliver packages, parcels, and other materials in accordance with company procedures.
- Use courier, routing, and dispatch software to manage stops, confirm deliveries, and document exceptions.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, supervisors, customers, and site personnel throughout the workday.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and confirm load accuracy before departure.
- Maintain professionalism, safety, and service quality across a variety of delivery environments.
- Handle time-sensitive or special-handling deliveries in accordance with company procedures when assigned.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and short-notice assignments.
- Operate a company-provided cargo van or box truck, or an approved personal vehicle, depending on route assignment, vehicle availability, and business needs.
- Use an approved personal vehicle for designated assignments when required and receive reimbursement in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience in courier, package delivery, or freight operations.
- Valid California Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- DOT Medical Certification preferred; must meet all physical requirements of the role.
- Proficient with cargo vans and box trucks in high-volume logistics environments.
- Familiarity with route management systems such as CXT Software or equivalent tools preferred.
- Excellent time management, adaptability, and communication skills.
