Position Purpose
Security Officers are essential to maintaining a safe, calm and respectful health care environment at UT Medical Center. Through a visible presence and professional engagement, Security Officers help create a calm, respectful environment where patients can heal, families feel supported and team members can focus on providing exceptional care.
In this role, Security Officers are authorized to enforce applicable laws, conduct arrests and pursue prosecution of criminal activity when necessary, while exercising sound judgment, integrity and respect.

Key Responsibilities
● Investigate thefts, incidents and accidents related to Medical Center operations.
● Patrol and secure all buildings, grounds, vehicles and parking areas.
● Monitor security cameras, alarms and access points; maintain accurate and detailed security logs.
● Dispatch and communicate effectively via radio, telephone and in person with officers, team members, patients and visitors.
● Respond to fire, security and medical emergencies; serve as a first responder to campus hazards, accidents and alarms.
● Assist with managing mental health-related incidents, unruly or intoxicated individuals and transports as directed using de-escalation and safety-first approaches. ● Direct traffic, assist motorists and enforce parking and traffic regulations on UT Medical Center property.
● Enforce UT Medical Center policies and applicable state and local laws with professionalism and consistency
