Field Safety Specialist Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of construction safety or relevant field experience

Experience in structural steel or other high-risk construction environments strongly preferred

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (or ability to obtain)

First Aid / CPR / AED certification

Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% (in and out of state)

Confident working on active job sites with multiple trades

Hands-on approach with a proactive mindset toward hazard prevention

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with all levels onsite, including subcontractors
Field Safety Specialist Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Conduct regular job site safety walks, inspections, and audits

Identify and address unsafe conditions and behaviors, ensuring timely corrective action

Support enforcement of safety standards and OSHA compliance in the field

Maintain a strong visible presence on job sites to reinforce safe work practices

Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task planning, and incident investigations

Collaborate with leadership and crews to promote a proactive safety culture and implement risk-reduction solutions
