Applied AI Social Media Manager (Project-Based Internship)

About the Opportunity
AlignaWorX is seeking an Applied AI Social Media Manager to help grow the organization's digital presence across multiple platforms through strategic content planning, publishing, audience engagement, and performance analysis.
This is a project-based internship designed for individuals who already possess strong social media management skills and are ready to apply those skills in a professional environment. Interns will work on live projects supporting AI education, workforce development, nonprofit initiatives, public speaking, and thought leadership.
This is not an introductory marketing internship. We are seeking individuals who can contribute immediately by applying their existing knowledge to real campaigns that reach real audiences.
Position Overview
The Applied AI Social Media Manager is responsible for executing the day-to-day social media strategy for AlignaWorX and affiliated brands. This individual will organize content calendars, schedule posts, optimize content for each platform, monitor engagement, and use analytics to improve overall performance.
The ideal candidate understands that successful social media management is more than posting content—it is about building an engaged community, maintaining brand consistency, and making data-informed decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain monthly content calendars.
- Schedule and publish content across multiple social media platforms.
- Customize captions, hashtags, and formatting for each platform.
- Coordinate publishing schedules with the AI Content Producer and other creative team members.
- Monitor audience engagement and respond to comments or messages as directed.
- Track social media trends and identify opportunities for increased visibility.
- Organize digital assets for efficient content distribution.
- Monitor platform analytics and prepare simple monthly performance reports.
- Recommend strategies to improve audience growth, engagement, and content reach.
- Ensure brand messaging and visual identity remain consistent across all platforms.

- Pinterest (preferred but not required)
Required Qualifications
Applicants should already demonstrate experience in:
- Social media management
- Content scheduling
- Digital marketing fundamentals

- Copywriting for social media
- Brand consistency
Experience using scheduling and management platforms such as:
- Meta Business Suite
- Buffer
- Later
- Hootsuite
- Metricool
- Sprout Social
- Other comparable scheduling platforms
Experience using AI tools such as:
- ChatGPT
- Gemini
- Claude
- Canva AI
- Microsoft Copilot
- Other AI productivity tools
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience supporting:
- Public speakers
- Coaches
- Educators
- Nonprofits
- Personal brands
- Workforce development organizations
- Professional service organizations
Knowledge of social media best practices, content optimization, and platform algorithms is strongly preferred.
Portfolio Requirement
A portfolio is required.
