This position is located at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.
Job Overview:
Nova Space Solutions (NSS) is seeking a Buyer to procure materials, supplies, and services in support of NASA operations. This position purchases goods from approved requisitions, administers purchase orders, maintains vendor relationships, and ensures procurement activities are completed in accordance with the Company's Procurement Manual and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Duties:

Purchase materials, supplies, and services from approved requisitions in accordance with the Company's Procurement Manual.

Review plans, drawings, specifications, and other documentation to ensure materials and services meet project requirements.

Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery information.

Conduct vendor evaluations and site visits as required.
-
Maintain vendor source lists and procurement records.
-
Prepare, issue, administer, and maintain purchase orders and related procurement documentation.

Interface with Company personnel, Government representatives, and customers to ensure procurement policies and procedures are understood and followed.

Perform purchasing activities within established customer requirements.

Serve as backup to the Junior Buyer position.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Mandatory:
-
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
-
Minimum five (5) years of purchasing or buying experience.

Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.

Computer proficiency.
-
Good organizational and planning skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.
-
Ability to take direction and follow detailed instructions.

Ability to work independently.
-
Ability to interact effectively with personnel at all organizational levels in a multicultural, team-oriented environment.

Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain the required NASA badge.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred:

Experience supporting government contracts or NASA programs.

Experience interpreting engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications.

Experience with computerized purchasing or procurement systems.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily in an office environment and may require standing, sitting, walking, and detailed computer work.

Occasional exposure to workplace hazards.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Dexterity to operate standard office equipment required by the position.
