Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Program Director to lead the launch and daily operations of a new early childhood education center in the Bronx. This is a unique opportunity to build a high-quality childcare program from the ground up by establishing operational systems, recruiting and leading staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children and families.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development aligned with best practices in early childhood education.
- Lead strategic planning initiatives to expand program offerings, improve quality standards, and enhance community engagement.
- Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff through ongoing performance reviews, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to childcare licensing, special education law, and school legal requirements.
- Oversee personnel management tasks such as hiring, onboarding, training, and personnel management in accordance with education administration standards.
- Foster a positive team environment through leadership in faculty evaluation processes and instructional leadership in early childhood education practices.
- Engage actively with families to build trust, communicate program goals, and support children’s individual needs.
- Collaborate with external agencies on special education services and legal compliance issues affecting the center.
Requirements
- Strong background in curriculum development tailored for early childhood or preschool-aged children.
- Knowledge of school legal requirements including licensing standards, special education law, and classroom safety protocols.
- Experience with instructional leadership in early childhood or K-12 settings coupled with classroom teaching experience.
- Familiarity with managing programs that serve diverse student populations including students with special needs.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
