Louisville Country Club, one of Kentucky’s most prestigious private member-owned institutions, is seeking a visionary Executive Chef to lead our culinary department. We are looking for a creative leader who balances respect for timeless club traditions with a modern, sophisticated approach to seasonal cuisine.
The Opportunity
As the Executive Chef, you will oversee all culinary operations, including our formal dining room, casual family grille, poolside pavilion, and a robust calendar of high-end banquet events and weddings. You will have the platform to design innovative menus, mentor a professional kitchen brigade, and deliver an unparalleled dining experience to our discerning membership.
Key Responsibilities
- Menu Innovation: Create seasonally inspired menus that feature locally sourced Kentucky ingredients alongside global culinary trends.
- Operational Excellence: Manage all back-of-house operations, including procurement, inventory, labor costs, and food safety standards.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Recruit, train, and inspire a diverse culinary team, fostering a culture of professional growth and high morale.
- Member Engagement: Maintain a visible presence within the club, building relationships with members and tailoring culinary offerings to their preferences.
- Event Artistry: Direct the execution of large-scale gala events, golf tournaments, and private member functions with precision and flair.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5–7 years as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef, preferably within a high-volume luxury hotel or private club environment.
- Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent apprenticeship; CEC (Certified Executive Chef) designation preferred.
- Exceptional palate, mastery of diverse cooking techniques, and strong financial acumen (P&L management).
- A collaborative leader with a "member-first" service philosophy and a calm demeanor under pressure.
