ESTATE GARDENER or Groundskeeper
Lairmont Manor is looking for gardeners to tend our estate garden and join our hardworking and dedicated team who work hard to create a beautiful backdrop to hundreds of events each year. This is a seasonal role, full-time or part-time, approximately now through October. Possibilty to re-hire in March of 2027.
Some knowledge of plant/flower care is needed- and the willingness to hustle and learn.
Primary responsibilities include:
+ All floral, evergreen landscaping, outdoor care, upkeep of venue amenities (tables, chairs, tent, drapes, heaters, equipment, etc) of estate
+ Event setup, parking, and detailed pre-event preparations
Experience with the following is important to the job:
+ Plant knowledge and expertise
+ Garden and soil upkeep and care
+ Ability to drive a truck, lift, dig, labor, operate standard garden equipment and tools
The role we are hiring for is primarily Gardening, watering, weeding, pruning, sweeping, lifting, hauling, pressure washing, edging and all the labor involved in caring for the Lairmont Manor estate grounds and making sure they are perfect for our events. You will work with a hardworking team of landscapers, purchase plants, order supplies, plan for the entire year of garden needs, work with estate owners, work with guests and our venue coordinator. Along with the garden portion of the job, there is set up of heavy tables, chairs, and other furniture for all events. Also some cleaning and miscellaneous tasks as needed. The gardener is solely responsible for the overall health and visual beauty and maintenance of the estate grounds.

+ Flexible ( job duties vary and schedule can change weekly )
+ Be a consistent, reliable and hardworking team player and kind leader
+ Have stamina, strength and not tire easily - this is hard work!
+ Have a positive can-do attitude, should really like gardening.
+ Be proactive, curious, self-starting and have resilience
+ Ability to lift 50lbs
+ Work peacefully and respectfully with all people. No drama.
+ Must be 18 years of age and have valid drivers license.
+ Comply with background and reference checks

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
