Quality Inspector

Duravex is a high-growth manufacturer based in Louisa, Virginia, specializing in sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, coatings, and the design and build of turnkey mechanical systems. In addition to full system integration and production, we also design custom equipment and collaborate with customers to refine and optimize their product designs.
What You’ll Do:
Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that components, systems, and assemblies meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves inspecting, testing, and evaluating products throughout the manufacturing process to identify defects, ensure compliance, and support continuous improvement efforts.
Daily Tasks:
Inspect raw materials, components, assemblies, and finished products using established inspection procedures.
Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
Record inspection results accurately and maintain required quality documentation.
Identify, document, and communicate defects, nonconformances, and quality concerns.
Assist with investigating the root causes of quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
Perform first-piece, in-process, final, and receiving inspections as required.
Verify that manufacturing processes and products comply with company and customer requirements.
Use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
Support calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
Work with production personnel to resolve quality issues and prevent recurring defects.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection/work area.
Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement and quality-assurance initiatives.
What You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, or a related field preferred.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter and maintain inspection data.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively with production and quality teams.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality-management systems.
Experience with quality documentation, nonconformance reports, and corrective actions.
Quality-related certifications such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) are a plus.
