About Us
At First Physical & Functional Rehabilitation, our mission is to be Hawaii’s first choice for physical therapy. We are an outpatient clinic helping injured workers and our community members regain strength, improve mobility, and restore confidence so they can return to the activities that matter most. Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist at First Physical & Functional Rehabilitation, you lead patient recovery and rehabilitation in a hands-on, team-based setting. Responsibilities include:
- Performing comprehensive evaluations and developing individualized treatment plans
- Implementing and modifying therapy programs to meet patient goals
- Guiding patients through exercises, functional activities, and mobility training
- Monitoring and recording patient progress in our electronic medical record system (WebPT)
- Supervising and collaborating with Physical Therapist Assistants and clinic staff to ensure high-quality care
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming treatment environment
Skills & Experience We Value
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist in Hawaii and graduated from a CAPTE-accredited program
- Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)
- Strong patient communication skills and a focus on quality care
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Physical Therapists, PTAs, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Previous experience in outpatient care, worker recovery, or orthopedics is a plus
- Familiarity with WebPT helpful but not required
Hawaii Licensure & Continuing Education Requirements
Hawaii PT Licensure Requirements:
- Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program
- Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) for PTs
- Hold a valid PT license issued by the Hawaii Board of Physical Therapy (cca.hawaii.gov)
Continuing Education:
- 30 hours every two years
- Includes 2 hours of Hawaii jurisprudence and ethics
