Godwin Heights Public Schools seeks a passionate and dedicated Social Studies Teacher to create a flexible program and classroom environment that supports both academic growth and personal development. The ideal candidate will establish effective rapport with students, motivate them to develop essential skills and knowledge according to their abilities, and foster strong relationships with parents and staff.

Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and monitor student progress.

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including students with special needs and English Learners.

Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administrators to support school and district initiatives.

Maintain strong communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Supervise students during classroom and school-related activities.

Participate in professional learning opportunities, school meetings, and committees.

Promote and participate in art-related school events, exhibitions, and community partnerships.

Ability to integrate Technology.

Regular and predictable attendance.

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Social Studies (RX) Endorsement.

Multiple endorsements desired.

Meets Highly Qualified Teacher standards.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience and/or training in teaching to Michigan State Standards.

Demonstrated ability to use technology effectively in instruction and record-keeping.

Experience and/or training in working with English Learners preferred.

Experience teaching secondary students is preferred.
