Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and dish presentation
- Handle food with care, following strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Use knife skills effectively for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients efficiently and safely
- Support food service operations by plating dishes attractively and ensuring timely delivery to customers or dining areas
- Participate in food preparation tasks such as portioning ingredients, stocking stations, and cleaning work areas to maintain kitchen efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to execute catering orders and special event meals with enthusiasm and professionalism
Experience
- Previous kitchen experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards
- Proven skills in meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation
- Experience with menu planning or culinary arts demonstrates a well-rounded skill set
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
