About the Position
Are you a friendly, outgoing person who genuinely enjoys helping people?
Staybridge Suites Hillsboro North is looking for an engaging, dependable, and service-minded Guest Service Agent to join our Front Office team.
As a Guest Service Agent, you are often the first and last impression our guests have of the hotel. You will welcome guests, assist with their needs throughout their stay, handle reservations and payments, provide information about the hotel and local area, and help create an experience that makes guests want to return.
We are looking for someone who is positive, professional, confident, and genuinely enjoys interacting with people. Previous hotel experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
AM and PM shifts are available, with on-the-job training provided.
What You'll DoGuest Service & Front Desk
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival and provide a friendly, professional experience throughout their stay.
- Check guests in and out efficiently and accurately.
- Assist guests with reservations, room changes, cancellations, and other booking needs.
- Answer questions about hotel amenities, services, policies, and hours of operation.
- Respond to guest requests and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Listen to guests, identify their needs, and work to resolve concerns or find appropriate solutions.
- Provide recommendations and information about restaurants, shopping, transportation, entertainment, and local attractions.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Hillsboro/Portland area and things to do near the hotel.
- Assist guests with packages, mail, messages, luggage, amenities, and other requested items as needed.
- Provide concierge-style assistance and help guests make the most of their stay.
- Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and professional front desk and lobby environment.
Reservations & Hotel Operations
- Make, modify, and manage guest reservations accurately.
- Follow established procedures for rate quotes, packages, promotions, and special offers.
- Maintain knowledge of current hotel rates, packages, promotions, group reservations, and availability.
- Become familiar with in-house guests, groups, special events, and occupancy needs.
- Operate the hotel's front desk and telephone systems efficiently.
- Use the hotel's property management system and other required technology accurately.
- Handle guest accounts, payments, and basic financial transactions with accuracy.
- Follow all cash-handling and credit card procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and guest information.
- Follow hotel policies, procedures, safety standards, and emergency procedures.
Teamwork
- Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, management, and other hotel departments to meet guest needs.
- Communicate clearly with coworkers and maintain professional radio etiquette when using two-way radios.
- Share important guest and operational information with the appropriate team members.
- Assist coworkers and other departments when needed.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by hotel management.

Qualifications
- Previous hotel experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or hotel management systems preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to remain professional and composed when handling guest concerns or unexpected situations.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Schedule
AM Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
