Most business owners don't find out their coverage was wrong until they're filing a claim — and by then, the gap has already cost them. Not because anyone lied to them, necessarily. Just because nobody sat with them long enough to ask the right questions.
We're looking for someone who asks the right questions early, in plain language, before there's a claim to file.
Who We're Actually Looking For
- Someone with genuine insurance knowledge — commercial liability, property, workers' comp, and how those pieces actually fit a small business's real risk profile.
- Someone comfortable working in an advisory capacity — this role is scoped to review, education, and guidance rather than placing or binding policies.
- Someone who can translate policy language into plain terms an owner can actually act on.
- Someone who treats "you're probably fine" as a sentence that needs to be earned, not assumed.
What This Role Actually Is
The Insurance Advisor works behind our client-facing BDR line, reviewing an owner's existing coverage against their actual operations and flagging gaps, overlaps, or outdated policies. You advise and educate; you are not placing coverage as a producer under this role's current scope.
This is a Complete-tier role, engaged on scheduled touchpoints as part of our highest membership tier.
Compensation
Salary range to be discussed based on experience and caseload. Full W-2 role with benefits. Any change to this role's scope that would require separate producer licensing will be discussed openly before it happens.
About Adminstone
We built Adminstone because we know exactly what it costs to not have it.
The legal question that became a dispute. The financial report that arrived too late. The best employee who left because nobody noticed. The marketing that never happened because there was no time and no one who knew what they were doing.
Adminstone is a professional services subscription firm based in the Treasure Valley. We give small business owners a coordinated team of real professionals — not referrals, not a directory, a team — for one predictable monthly rate. We do the work. We don't just advise on it and leave the owner to figure out the rest.
What Doesn't Change
Every role at Adminstone changes as the firm grows. The tools change. The org chart changes. The client roster changes. What doesn't change is the soul of it: we do the work we say we'll do, we tell owners the truth even when it's inconvenient, and we measure ourselves by whether the client is actually better off — not by whether the invoice went out on time.
How to Apply
Ready to apply? Head to adminstone.com/join-our-team to submit your application. As part of the process, you'll be asked to answer the following:
- One paragraph on your insurance background and why advisory-only work appeals to you.
- One example of a coverage gap or risk you helped someone identify before it became a problem.
- One answer to this question — an owner tells you insurance is "just a box to check." What do you say to them?
We read every application personally. We respond to every application personally. We do not use automated screening. The right candidate will know within 48 hours whether we want to have a conversation.
