Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items following established recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and assembling ingredients with proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently to support meal production.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and equipment cleaning routines.
- Support menu planning efforts by understanding dish components and ingredient requirements.
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure compliance with safety standards in production and food handling.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to safety, hygiene, and quality control.
- Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking techniques, and operating commercial kitchen equipment.
- Strong understanding of recipe adherence and meal preparation procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent knife skills, slicing techniques, and food safety management practices.
- Experience working in fast-paced kitchens or culinary settings that emphasize safety standards in production.
