JOB SUMMARY:
Source Energy exists to dramatically improve the accessibility and affordability of energy in space.
In this position, you will support the production organization under the direction of the Production Supervisor. You will assist with the assembly, inspection, and testing of flight and development hardware for spacecraft systems. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on technical experience in aerospace manufacturing and production.
Technicians will work closely with production staff, engineers, and quality personnel while learning manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and testing procedures in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform receiving inspection on incoming hardware and help maintain organized inventory locations
- Assist with mechanical and electrical assembly of solar modules and related hardware
- Follow build instructions, work procedures, and engineering documentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and production areas
- Document non-conformances and report issues to supervisors or engineering staff
- Support functional testing of hardware, including setup and teardown of test equipment
- Assist with environmental and qualification test setups such as thermal cycling and vibration testing
- Support continuous improvement efforts within production and manufacturing processes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0–2 years of hands-on mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, or assembly experience
- Comfortable using basic hand tools and following written instructions
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Windows
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication and teamwork skills
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Technical school, trade school, or associate degree coursework
- Experience in manufacturing, assembly, automotive, electronics, or aerospace environments
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings or assembly instructions
- Soldering or wiring experience is a plus
- Familiarity with inventory organization and shop safety practices
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, and stretching may be required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
