Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in assembling dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Cook and plate meals efficiently while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
- Follow food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen activities
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and ensuring timely delivery
- Maintain organization of the kitchen workspace, including storage areas and utensils, to promote efficiency and safety
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service hours
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking, and food handling in restaurant or food industry settings
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with menu planning, catering, serving, or kitchen operations is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
