QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid California Multiple Subject Credential and an English Learner authorization required (by August 10, 2026)
- Commitment to Los Alamitos Unified School District’s mission, vision and priority goals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and work closely with a wide range of
stakeholders
- Successful classroom teaching experience with a passion for working with children
- Knowledge of principles, theories, methods, techniques and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction
- Knowledge of educational curriculum, instructional goals and objectives and educational trends and research findings
pertaining to educational technology and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
- Ability to be flexible and revise priorities in accordance with requirements of the Superintendent/designee
- Ability to motivate and support staff in reaching high levels of academic success
- Expert knowledge of instructional technology, current research and practice related to instruction
- A results-oriented, goal-driven, team approach to work
- Ability to be flexible and revise priorities in accordance with the requirements of student needs, school goals and
district priorities along with a strong commitment to learn
- Outstanding skills in problem-solving, critical-thinking, innovation and creativity
- Strong science, engineering, coding, mathematics and technology skills
ASSIGNMENT
• Teach a variety of STEAM and Makerspace related curriculum, lessons, and activities aligned to NGSS for students
Kindergarten through grade 5
- Assignment begins: August 10, 2026
SALARY AND BENEFITS
• Placement on Certificated Salary Schedule with starting salary between $75,315 (Step 1) - $114,714 (Step 10),
(Pro-rated to 49%); maximum outside years accepted nine; up to two years credit for Substitute Teaching
experience
- Eligible to participate in BTSA/Induction program with Orange County Office of Education (OCDE)
