THE POSITION
The WEFIT Program Coordinator recruitment is an Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) internal recruitment. ONLY applications from current, OCFA Fire Captains, Fire Apparatus Engineers, or non-probationary Firefighters will be accepted.
The OCFA Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division is currently accepting applications for the position of WEFIT Program Coordinator. The WEFIT Program Coordinator is a role model for firefighter health and fitness. This position is a key team member along with the Fire Academy Cadre, Human Resources, EMS, Executive Management, the Operations Department, and OCPFA Local 3631 in the ongoing success of the program.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The position requires a two-year commitment on the 4/10 work schedule.
ADDITIONAL PAY:
Per the OCPFA IAFF - Local 3631 - Eligibility for SAP-SIP (page 105/106) the WEFIT Coordinator is eligible for Staff Assignment Pay (SAP) and/or Staff Incentive Pay (SIP).
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The duties of the WEFIT Program Coordinator involve:

Coordinate with Hoag in scheduling the wellness exams for the Operations Department

Collaborate with the Behavioral Health and Wellness Coordinator and Cancer Prevention Specialist
-
Provide oversight for the contracted athletic trainers and performance coaches
-
Develop and manage the WEFIT Program budget
-
Manage fitness equipment purchases and repairs
-
Assist with the WEFIT Oversight Committee meeting agendas, reports, and attend quarterly meetings

Develop and monitor program evaluation tools and track program results
-
Maintain oversight and development of fire academy candidate pre-academy fitness training programs
-
Participate in the OCFA Safety Officer Program

Develop health and fitness education programs for the OCFA
-
Provide oversight and development of the OCFA Peer Fitness Trainer Program
-
Maintain updated information on the WEFIT Website and WEFIT social media
-
Act as liaison with outside organizations on the OCFA WEFIT Program
-
Act as liaison between OCPFA Local 3631 and OCFA Management
