Position Summary:
We are seeking an Agriculture / Commercial Lender to grow and service a loan portfolio across our central Kansas territory. In this role you will build strong working relationships with members, originate and service agricultural and commercial loans, and deliver the financial expertise our members count on — all while identifying new opportunities to expand our lending presence in the region.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist prospective and existing members with loan requests, credit questions, and financial solutions tailored to their operation.
- Originate and service agricultural and commercial loans, including operating lines, equipment financing, real estate, and livestock loans, within established lending authority.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis — reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections — and present well-supported recommendations to management.
- Perform ongoing loan servicing tasks including re-amortizations, advances, extensions, payment collection, and collateral inspections.
- Actively develop new business by networking with producers, agribusinesses, and commercial clients throughout the territory.
- Stay current on commodity markets, FSA/USDA programs, crop conditions, and regional agricultural trends to best advise members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in agricultural lending, commercial lending, or banking required.
- Strong credit analysis skills with the ability to evaluate farm and business financials and communicate decisions clearly.
- Proven business development ability — comfortable cultivating new relationships and growing a loan portfolio.
- Farm background or practical agricultural experience a plus.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Valid driver's license; willingness to conduct field and member site visits.
