Duties
- Dispense prescriptions accurately while adhering to all state and federal pharmacy laws, including drug regulation and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to optimize medication therapy, including medication administration, pain management, and immunizations.
- Manage pharmacy inventory efficiently, including compounding medications following USP 797 standards and maintaining proper inventory levels.
- Lead pharmacy teams by managing staff schedules, providing training on pharmacy operations, and ensuring adherence to clinical confidentiality policies.
- Utilize Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and Pharmacy Software to process prescriptions, document patient interactions, and ensure seamless workflow.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services in diverse settings such as community pharmacies, LTC (Long-Term Care) facilities, or hospital environments with acute care experience.
- Educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and drug regulation policies while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards.
- Support medical management initiatives by collaborating with healthcare providers on complex cases involving pediatrics or specialized treatments like IV infusion or aseptic techniques.
- Participate in immunization programs and perform basic life support (BLS) during emergency situations to uphold safety standards.
Qualifications
- Valid pharmacist license in good standing with comprehensive knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws.
- Demonstrated experience practicing as a pharmacist across various settings such as community pharmacy, hospital, or LTC pharmacy with a focus on clinical pharmacy experience.
- Critical care experience or hospital experience is highly desirable; familiarity with acute care and pain management is a plus.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles necessary for effective patient assessment and medical management.
- Proficiency with Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR systems, and pharmacy operations software.
- Experience managing pharmacy teams or supervising pharmacy technicians; excellent customer service skills essential for client communication.
- Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), immunizations certification, and knowledge of aseptic technique are preferred.
- Ability to handle inventory management efficiently while maintaining compliance with USP 797 standards for sterile compounding.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and educate patients on medication therapy within the framework of HIPAA regulations.

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
