Position: Certified Truck Mechanic – Body Repair & Parts Specialist
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Certified Truck Mechanic specializing in truck body repair, parts replacement, and restoration work. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining truck body components to ensure fleet vehicles remain safe, functional, and presentable.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in commercial truck body repair, fabrication, welding, and installation of truck parts and accessories.
Key Responsibilities
· Inspect truck bodies and identify damage, wear, and repair requirements.
· Perform body repairs on commercial trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles.
· Repair and replace damaged truck body components, including:
· Doors
· Panels
· Bumpers
· Fenders
· Steps
· Mirrors
· Guards
· Exterior accessories
· Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and metal repair as required.
· Remove, install, and replace truck body parts and components.
· Perform dent repair, alignment, and structural body adjustments.
· Repair damaged areas caused by accidents, wear, or daily operations.
· Prepare surfaces for painting and finishing work.
· Install truck accessories and equipment as required.
· Ensure repaired vehicles meet company quality and safety standards.
· Maintain accurate records of repairs and replacement parts used.
· Work with Fleet Maintenance Manager to prioritize repair needs and minimize vehicle downtime.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Truck Mechanic qualification or relevant technical certification preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial truck body repair and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of:
Truck body structures
Metal fabrication
Welding techniques
Body panel replacement
Parts installation
Repair procedures
Experience working with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, or fleet vehicles.
Ability to read repair manuals and technical instructions.
Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
Preferred Experience
Experience repairing refrigerated trucks, box trucks, trailers, or delivery vehicles.
Experience with collision repair and fleet restoration.
Experience with welding equipment and fabrication tools.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move parts and equipment up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in a workshop environment.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, or emergency repairs when required.
