We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our busy outpatient clinic. Position Summary
The Medical Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations of our bariatric surgery practice. This role is responsible for assisting providers during clinic, coordinating patient care, managing appointments, answering phones, collecting payments, and delivering an outstanding patient experience in both in-person and virtual clinic settings.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, professional, outgoing, highly organized, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Assist providers during in-person and virtual clinic visits.
- Prepare exam rooms and room patients by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and medication reconciliation.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally.
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
- Collect patient payments and process transactions accurately.
- Provide exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients.
- Educate patients on pre- and post-appointment instructions as directed by providers.
- Coordinate patient follow-up care, referrals, and communication.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms.
- Support efficient clinic workflow while balancing multiple priorities.
- Collaborate with physicians and team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and accountability in all patient and team interactions.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and patient-centered workplace culture.
Qualifications/Education
- High school diploma or equivalent – Required
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) – Preferred but not required
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician office or specialty clinic
- Experience caring for bariatric surgery or weight management patients
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume medical office
- Customer service experience in a healthcare setting
Skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer and EMR proficiency
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a busy clinical environment
- Professional demeanor with outstanding interpersonal skills
- Spanish-speaking ability – Preferred

Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- One-hour lunch break
- No routine weekends or holidays
Travel Requirements
- Must be willing to occasionally travel to our Snellville clinic located near Piedmont Eastside Hospital to provide coverage and support as needed.
