Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, including product demos and recommendations
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and handle cash, credit, or mobile payments with professionalism
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with fresh products and attractive signage
- Conduct upselling by suggesting complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Manage stock levels through regular stocking and inventory checks, ensuring product availability for customers
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and demonstrating phone etiquette when assisting via phone or online inquiries
- Support store operations by performing basic math calculations for transactions, balancing cash drawers, and adhering to cash handling procedures
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail or grocery store environment
- Strong supervising experience or leadership skills to assist team members when needed
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written forms; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Demonstrated phone etiquette for professional communication with customers over the phone or via online platforms
- Customer-focused attitude with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting
