Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual with a passion for helping others? We're seeking a skilled Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant to join our team at Armada Recovery, a leading addiction treatment center. As a key member of our clinical department, you will work collaboratively with therapists to provide support, guidance, and therapeutic services to individuals in group and individual settings.
Responsibilities:
Co-facilitate group counseling sessions to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for clients
Assist in the facilitation of group counseling sessions, applying evidence-based therapeutic methods
Provide individual counseling services, under the direction of a therapist, and document client progress
Collaborate with the treatment team to create individualized treatment plans and goals for clients
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as necessary
Maintain accurate records and progress notes in compliance with agency policies and regulations
Participate in staff meetings, case reviews, and clinical consultations to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery
Additional Duties:
Maintain office supplies inventory and perform administrative tasks as needed
Prepare routine reports and correspondence in English
Speak before groups of customers or employees
Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities
Carry/lift boxes weighing between 10 and 25 pounds
Ascend and descend stairs regularly as part of daily job duties
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of CDCA or higher
At least 1-2 years of experience working in a therapeutic or support role with individuals experiencing substance use disorders
Experience in group facilitation or counseling is preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to co-facilitate group discussions in a non-judgmental and supportive manner
Understanding of evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities for substance use disorder treatment
Ability to complete clinical documentation in an electronic medical record
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Crisis management and de-escalation skills
Computer Skills:
Ability to use Microsoft Word (or similar word processing program) at an expert level
Ability to use Microsoft Excel (or similar spreadsheet program) at an expert level
Ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint (or similar word processing program) at an intermediate level
Ability to use KIPU EHR software at an intermediate level
Salary: $19 - $23 HOURLY
Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.
