Role Description: The Local Trucking Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Montgomery, AL. This role is responsible for planning and dispatching local truck routes, coordinating drivers and equipment, and ensuring timely pickups, deliveries, and unloading activities. The Dispatcher communicates with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers to address scheduling changes, service issues, and special requests, while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company policies. Daily tasks include monitoring truck locations, updating dispatch logs, verifying documentation, and supporting safe, efficient operations across local routes.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of CDL Class A requirements and truck driving operations to effectively coordinate local routes.
- Understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards relevant to local trucking and freight movement.
- Familiarity with truck loading and unloading processes to plan realistic schedules and support warehouse coordination.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills for managing multiple drivers and routes.
- Experience with dispatch software, GPS tracking, or transportation management systems is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Montgomery, AL and collaborate with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers.
- Previous experience in trucking dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation operations is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in logistics or transportation is a plus.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
