The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse is seeking an energetic, organized, and relationship-focused Assistant Director of Life & Workforce Readiness to help lead innovative workforce readiness, career exploration, and life skills programming for middle and high school youth.
In this role, you will turn opportunities into experiences. You will work directly with young people to recruit, prepare, coach, and support them while coordinating engaging programs, career exploration activities, workplace experiences, internships, mentorships, and partnerships with local employers and community organizations.

What You'll Do
Empower Youth for Future Success
- Recruit and engage youth in career and workforce readiness opportunities.
- Build positive, supportive relationships that encourage growth, confidence, and responsibility.
- Help young people identify their strengths, interests, and future goals.
- Coach participants in workplace readiness, communication, professionalism, leadership, teamwork, financial literacy, and other life skills.
- Proactively support and re-engage youth who may be struggling to attend or participate consistently.
Lead Meaningful Workforce Readiness Programming
- Facilitate engaging career exploration, workforce readiness, job readiness, mentorship, internship, and life skills programs.
- Deliver curriculum and activities that help youth prepare for education, employment, and independent living.
- Create an inclusive, welcoming, and positive learning environment where youth can thrive.
- Adapt programming to meet the needs and interests of participants.
Coordinate Partnerships & Opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, schools, colleges, and community organizations.
- Help coordinate workplace visits, career fairs, mentorship opportunities, internships, and hands-on career experiences.
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for assigned program partners.
- Ensure partners feel informed, supported, and prepared to work successfully with youth.
Manage Program Logistics & Operations
- Coordinate schedules, transportation, communication, materials, and program spaces.
- Transport youth to Club locations, employer sites, and workforce readiness activities as needed.
- Maintain program calendars and communicate updates to participants, families, staff, and partners.
- Track attendance, participation, outcomes, and other required program data.
- Help identify opportunities to improve participation, engagement, and program effectiveness.
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates will bring a combination of youth development experience, relationship-building skills, and strong organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Development, Workforce Development, Human Services, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Three or more years of experience in youth development, education, workforce development, community programming, or a related field preferred.
- Experience facilitating groups, classrooms, trainings, or youth programs.
- Ability to build positive relationships with middle and high school youth while maintaining appropriate boundaries and expectations.
- Experience collaborating with employers, schools, community organizations, or other external partners preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through independently.
- Comfort using technology and learning new systems and tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport youth as required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This position requires regular movement throughout Club locations and community settings. Employees must be able to communicate effectively with youth, families, staff, and partners and occasionally lift or move program materials and equipment. Work takes place in Club facilities, schools, employer locations, and other community environments.
